Scholarships to graduates of the Chair of Pontic Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for postgraduate studies at the International Hellenic University granted by the Ivan Savvidis Charitable Foundation
The Ivan Savvidis Charitable Foundation offers two scholarships for the Master of Arts in Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Studiesoffered by the School of Humanities of the International Hellenic University to graduates of the School of History and Archaeology or other Schools of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki who attended courses of the Chair of Pontic Studies in the academic year 2017-2018.
The scholarships will be awarded by the Ivan Savvidis Chair of Pontic Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and will give students the opportunity to acquire a postgraduate degree in the History and Culture of the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean.
The Ivan Savvidis Chair of Pontic Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from the very first moment of its operation, has focused on the study of the History the Hellenism of the East, aiming not only at strengthening the undergraduate studies on the subject but also at gradually creating a group of young scientists who will become engaged at postgraduate and doctoral level with unresearched aspects of the rich history of the Greeks of the East and especially of Pontos. The Chair of Pontic Studies was founded in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in May 2017 with the support of the Ivan Savvidis Charitable Foundation.

Selection will be based primarily on the candidates’ academic achievement in the courses attended at the Chair of Pontic Studies as well as to courses relevant to subjects offered by the Master of Arts in Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Studies.
